Volunteer Spotlight on Robin Melick

This summer MYOpera has a second intern, Robin Melick, who is working with us to plan the seventh season – how lucky are we?! Robin is currently wrapping up his undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studies with Founder & Artistic Director Kate Applin‘s former teacher, Kimberly Barber.

We asked Robin a few questions to get to know him a little better:

Where are you from? Kitchener-Waterloo

Where do you currently live? Cabbagetown

How did you find out about MYOpera? Mezzo-Soprano Kimberly Barber

What’s your favourite opera (to watch/listen to)? Giacomo Meyerbeer’s Robert le Diable

What’s your guilty pleasure song (any genre)? Mozart concert arias sung by French soprano Sandrina Piau.

Traveling is always an adventure! What’s your favourite/most memorable travel experience? A lovely beach holiday in Oostende, Belgium.

Do you have a signature dish/meal that you make? Tell us about it! Can’t cook, but love parsnips and raclette cheese.

Singers/Artists are busy people! What’s your favourite snack when you’re on the go? Cheese.

~Thanks Robin, we love having you on the team!
