Calling all passionate emerging artists! Auditions for the MYOpera Performance Intensive are now open. Applications are due on December 15, 2017.

What is the MYOpera Performance Intensive?

For the first time ever, MYOpera is hosting hosting a two-day-long intensive for advanced emerging artists. From February 16-17, 2018, six of Canada’s most promising young artists will work intensively with Music Director Natasha Fransblow, Stage Director Anna Theodosakis, and guest experts.

This intensive will focus on honing your performance skills, from the nuanced interpretation of score markings, to authenticity in your dramatic presentation, to finding your physical centre while under the stress of performance. Each singer will work on an aria and 2-3 ensemble pieces. Singers will be expected to arrive fully off-book to the start of the workshop.

After two packed days, Saturday, February 17 will close with a public showcase of the Performance Intensive participants.

The best part? The MYOpera Performance Intensive is FREE. That’s right, your two-day intensive, including music coaching, dramatic coaching, a professional masterclass, and more, is free.

How do I apply?

Applications are simple:

  • Make sure you’re available all day on February 16 and 17, 2018. Since the schedule is so condensed, we can’t accommodate any conflicts.
  • If you’re available, click the link below to start the application process. In addition to a headshot and resume, you’ll need to include two musical references and links to 2 recordings of you singing contrasting arias.
  • Apply online by December 15, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted.

That’s all! We’ll let you know in early January 2018 if you’re accepted or not.
